Canadian Library Month

October is Canadian Library Month!

All month long, libraries and library partners across Canada are raising awareness of the valuable role libraries play in Canadians’ lives.

More than just a place to find books, libraries promote cultural awareness, engage in the community, provide educational programs, support freedom of expression and so much more.

The theme for 2017 is “A Visit Will Get You Thinking”

The Ontario Library Association has created bookmarks, posters and graphics for use by all libraries across the country. Links to these resources are found below.

October 20, 2017 is Canadian Library Workers’ Day

In 2016, CFLA-FCAB designated the third Friday in October as Canadian Library Workers Day.

CLWD is a day for Canadians to recognize the valuable contributions made by all those who work in and for the public, academic, school, government, academic, corporate and private libraries that are integral to our communities.

Building on 2016, CFLA-FCAB is happy to declare Friday October 20, 2017 as Canadian Library Workers’ Day.
